Everything's not Lost- Coldplay |

Well I woke up at about ten-ish. I think, and came online. I personally feel I spend way too much time on the computer, but I came on. Then I called a friend of mine, whom I'm suppose to hang out with, but it seems completely impossible at this time. I think the most amusing thing is that she asked me to go out with her family. I told her it may be a problem, since at one point I dated her brother, whom I think is still mad that I broke things off. The most amusing thing is that for me to go, he was telling his parents that they should have to get him something, for him allowing me to tag along. I told her not to bother. So I stayed home. Oh the drama!
One of my good friends Brittney came and visited me for a few hours with her new boyfriend. His shirt was amusing "I'm here for the blowjob", but it did not impress my parents very much. We went rollerblading, which because I am an extremely uncoordinated person I had my knee pads, elbow pads and wrist pads on. I don't wear a helmet though. (Do you not think that they should make some type of rollerblading pad that goes on your bum? I find that I fall on my bum a lot more often then anywhere else, and it hurts to sit in chairs when your bum is bruised. Especially when you bruise your tail-bone. I've done that tobogganing, that really hurts!) Britt and her boyfriend, Devan, left quite early, I fed them; well we made hot dogs and then they were off to go back to Britt's house. It was nice to see my friend; I hadn't seen her for over three weeks, since I have been on vacation in British Columbia. Now that I am home, I'm trying to see a lot of my friends before they all go off to university. Luckily some are staying around with me and hitting high school up for another year. My night was a bit more exciting; my friend Josh invited me out for wings at a local pub. Luckily he offered to pay for me. I have no money sadly, at the moment. I spent it all in British Columbia. I met up with him, and two of his friends, Jordan (I think that was his name) and Steve (who most people call Steve-Dave). We stayed at the Winchester Arms for a while. The boys mostly discussed Dungeons and Dragons, which they asked me if I was interested in joining. It sounds interesting, and I think I may try it out. I'm not too sure if it is my scene though. After wings we sat by this big piece of Granite, which is some type of Memorial to Lindsay. I was sitting on it for a while, woops. At least I did not de-face it! We then headed to the Canadian lifeblood:
Tim Horton's
I had a lovely large coffee, triple-triple. I think the triple triple was a bit too much, next time I think I'll just go with the classic double-double. The other famous Tim Horton's drink is the Iced Cap, or if you want to say the proper name, the Iced Cappuccino. Very popular, there is even a silly add on television with the patio lanterns song, and the Iced Cap cups being used as the lanterns. We Canadians love our Timmy's. The boys talked more D&D and we also talked about a few other computer games. I felt like a Geek through and through tonight and I'm proud of it. I can stand up tall and admit that I am a Geek. And now I am home, sitting on my computer again listening to Coldplay.

I won't go getting tired of you-Foo fighters |
] |
I've been home from British Columbia for four days now almost five. I am glad to be home, but I do miss British Columbia already.
My sister Steph and I got back to Toronto quite well on our West Jet flight, which interestingly enough was the same type of plane we flew over in. And every time I go on a plane I always think of the Foo fighters learning to fly video, especially when they point to all the exits. I was disappointed though that they did not to the life vest demonstration, but since almost all of our flight was over land I guess they would not help one bit if we had crashed. I was not able to go home right away as I had tickets for the Foo fighters concert in Toronto for Saturday. I ended up staying at my sister's flat. It was okay but the first night I slept horribly, I ended up sleeping half the night on the floor and half on the sofa. That day of the concert a group of my sister's friends came down from Sudbury where they go to school and we hung out with them until it was time for our concert. I have never had so much fun, the foo fighters do a great concert, and they also had Sloan to an opening act for them, they were great too. Sloan is a great band!
Now Dave Grohl is great he makes the show very entertaining. He had his beer on stage with him, as well as he made some great jokes and said some hilarious stuff. My favourite part of the concert was when he was about to play a song by himself, and then he went on to say that all the couples need to give each other hickeys, because if your partner is proud enough to show the Hickey and to receive one then they truly love you. And then he yelled something like Fuck communication, it is all about hickeys! I was quite entertained! I find some truth to that though, even though it is completely silly, but if you are madly in love with your partner should you not be proud to have a Hickey given to you by them. Maybe I'm just mad.
I will definitely have to check out some more concerts, the energy that is built is amazing! I will post some of my pics from BC up when I get them on this computer, and I forgot my camera when I went to the concert so I have no pics. I will have to remember it by memory!

How long have I been in British Columbia now? Twelve Days! Wow. I have been having fun, and I did write a big update last Friday but then the internet window closed on me and I lost it. So I have now decided to write my entries on Word or Works or in Notepad just so I know it won't bog up and close on me.
I have fetched myself a calendar and some sustenance (brownie) to get me through this entry!
Well for the past time I've been here I've been to Victoria twice, explored Duncan, spent almost all my money and I've gone swimming a lot! Victoria is as beautiful as always, I went and saw Symphony Splash there! It was the Victoria Symphony playing music outside on a stage in the harbour. Very cool. I also held a tarantula and a scorpion at the bug zoo in Victoria!
August 6 Saturday!
I ended up waking up early at about 8-ish to go to the market with my Grandad and Letty. We went there to pick up some veggies, and then went to this coffee place, that I am so in love with I never want to leave here, because we do not have a coffee place like this in Lindsay. Everything made at this place is organic, and they have many vegan foods, and even vegan brownies and cookies! The food at this place is very good, so if anyone is ever in Duncan, you must go to the Duncan Garage. It has an extremely complicated name eh?
I also went to this place that is a therapeutic farm, where I took a bunch of pictures. Luckily my grandad is letting me use his cannon power shot, so I'm not using up all my film
August 7 Sunday! Today we went to Parksville, a town North of where I am staying on the island. Parksville is know for its sandy beach. It is quite nice actually and it is quite close by to Qualicum beach! We set out at an early-ish time to go there. We stopped at a Starbucks in a Chapters just a bit outside of Nanaimo. Grandad wanted this music magazine. I found it a bit weird though when we first got in there, because we were there searching the section where he usually finds it and there are these two people side by side facing the shelf looking at some magazine. You could hardly see the shelf, and they were almost right up against it. There I am getting as close as possible and peering round to see if I can find this magazine and the two people just stand there. Finally and say quite loudly "Do you mind letting me through?" And the guy says "No, no not at all" and he moves over like two steps, blocking half of the shelf. I finally just left and went to order my drink with Steph, my sister. She had the awesome idea of getting these pretzel stick things that are covered in chocolate. If you ever see them at Starbucks I say now buy them! They are delicious, even if the coffee isn't. We did get the magazine in the end, it was a BBC classical music magazine, that I am really not sure of the name of. We ended up getting to Parksville at about lunch time, but we went to the beach anyway. It was amazing the water was like so far out, because of the tide. Also, since the slope into the bay there is very very small the water was like a kilometer out from where it would be when the tide was in. We walked out to the water, but first we crossed this city of barnacles stuck to rock, I felt a bit bad as a few of them were crushed under my foot. Then we passed a few in beach ponds with lost of crabs running about, until we finally reached the waters edge. I went in and found myself tripping over hundreds of live sand dollars. When they are alive they are black and covered spines that have their cilia on them. They were very cool even if I did stub my toe. I found a bunch of dead ones and collected them. I think I managed to find about twenty or so, so look out, everyone will be getting sand dollars as prezzies. For lunch we ended up going to this place called Bugsy's which I think they were trying to use the 20's / 30's as the theme. They have over 100 different martini's there and I think they were trying to make it seem like a bit of a speakeasy. I found it amusing that they were playing country music in there, not old stuff but new stuff. It was amusing. I was most astonished by what I had for lunch. The waitress comes and there is this mountain of mushrooms on this plate, then she sets it in front of me. I finally notice that under this mountain is the rest of my burger. I have never seen so many mushroom on a burger, but it was also extremely yummy!
Well that was most of today, but I did watch the Life and Death of Peter Sellers after dinner. I had seen it before, but my grandparents haven't so I thought they'd like it and we rented it from Blockbuster. And now I am here feasting on brownies and chips.

Back at the computer by the window. Did I metion that the computer I'm using is a Mac. I cannot believe the differences between this one and the computer I have at home which is an HP. Well today was okay. The cat woke me up a few times screaching at like 4 am. Oh, well I just went rght back to sleep. I spent most of my day outside. I took the neighbours canoe around the bay with Stephie(my sister). I sat in the sun on the beach, and I went swimming twice!
I do love it here, and I love having water so close. I loved coming here when I was younger and I like it still too, but the beach has changed so much. The municipality has gone through and "cleaned" it up. Persoanlly I think they wrecked it. The beach down at the far end of the bay was covered with big rocks and oysters all stuck to them. There was driftwood all over the beach as well. It seemed so much more interesting. especially for walking on before they took all that away. I was told a bulldozer came and took out all the oysters and rocks. I loved going on the beach and finding all the sea creatures hiding behind the bid rocks, or in between some crevice. I'm really hoping to get up early so I can see some starfish, that is if they are still here since someone in the pay is leaking something with high levels of phosphorus which has caused a red algea bloom....It is everywhere in the bay, so I'm not sure how the other marine life will take to this... It is bizare because the water looks like it is an orangy red. At first I thought a bunch of rust has floated through the water because it was really concentrated yesterday, but today almost the whole length of the beach has this red algae in the water. Hopefully it will cleaan up.
I'm still trying to find things to go out and do while here. I think we are going to go caving. I'm looking forward to that.

I am now sitting at my Grandad's desk in British Columbia. I'm as tired as I can be and extremely ready for bed. As well as I am getting annoyed at thi iMAC. I like it and don't like it at the same time. I flew across Canada from Toronto on West Jet. I will say West Jet is actually quite nice to fly on, unlike some flights I've been on where they cram as many people as possible in a row. What company? * coughs * Air Transit! The seats were comfier, but I mostly appreciated the extra leg room. I'm having a hard time understanding why the seats all had to be leather, normal material is just fine. I feel sorry for any vegans who go on those plains. The flight was good, I am extremely tired from getting up at 3 am to get ready, but all in all I made it in one piece. When we arrived we had to go grocery shopping. I felt like a Zombie, but I slapped on a happy face and helped my grandparents with the shopping. We got a bite to eat before shopping at this place called Ralph's something or other. It was really good, and I was a bit of a traitor to the coffee house in my town. I had a steamer with mint chocolate mmm so good! When I did get back I went to take a walk on the beach by my grandad's house. I did so, getting myself covered in sand and rock at the same time. Then I just lied down in a sunny area and lied there for a while. I am so tired I'm about to fall asleep sitting here. I'll talk to you all soon!

I'm Here Again, Trebuchet! They use them a lot in Timeline. "Trébuchet!" but for some reason they always yell that when they launch it, does that not take away the surprise? Today I had a tournament at school, not a sports tournament, but a Reach for the Top tournament. Reach for the top is a trivia program that runs through schools. It is all based on answering questions and getting points. When I was in Grade 10 we made it to provincials....I want to make provincials again this year, but it looks like I'll have to memorize more bizarre facts. It is fun and the teacher who runs it is a laugh. I joined because I find myself knowing bizarre facts, like Marilyn Monroe had 6 toes on one foot, or the Greek national anthem has 143 verses.... and other bizarre things. I anjoyed myself......We get free cookies so who could not enjoy themselves?

I thought it was quite interesting that in Germany some garbage men dismatled an art sculpture thinking it was garbage and are now going to be taking classes in art appreciation.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/4187537.stm
My thought is that I hope the classes are not supose to be some type of punishment, unless these Garbage men becoming ill when discussing or analyzing art. Which makes me think of the Vogons in a Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy.. maybe art to them is like Vogon poetry to everyone else?

I just found out today that I have no hours at work this week. At first I was a little worried I lost my job, but no one has said anything.. so I'm hoping I'm okay. This evening I watched both Dawn of the Dead, then one of my fave shows Desperate Housewives. Dawn of the Dead was interesting, made me jump a few times and grossed me out a bit, but overall I thought it was okay. It was a bit weird watching it, after watching Shaun of the Dead, because I found Shaun of the Dead to be just as digusting, and I liked the fact that the Zombie bites kept bleeding so that people would die quickly in it, unlike in Dawn of the Dead, where it took one person 15 minutes to die and someone with a worse bite almost an hour of movie time. I like Shaun better, mainly because I like Comedies. Last night I finished my novel for English and I was reading this book on the Beatles, and now I am at 1970. Now I have more novels I have to start reading that were given to me for Christmas, I cannot wait to start reading them. Maybe I should finish a Time to Kill first though.. I'm almost finished it and I started it in December than read my english novel while half way finished A time to Kill. I hate it when I do not finish a book, so I will probably have to read that first before moving on. Well I'm off for now... just waiting for my blankets to finish drying then I'm off to bed!

I just finished watching Wimbeldon, the movie. The one with Bettany playing Peter Colt and wins Wimbeldon... I remember reading an interview of Bettany when the movie was first released. he was going on about how tired he was and how hard it was to get into shape especially because he is a smoker. The film was cute, I must admit and the parents were delightful. I've spent most of the day getting around my house slowly, since I hurt my back in the most stupid fashion. I was reading while lying on my stomach on the sofa and when I went to sit up properly my back cracked and now my back is killing me again. So I took the day off of work and I have no idea if I'm supose to work tomorrow. I probably am supose to as well. Earlier I was playing one of my computer games but became thoroughly annoyed when I kept dying all the time. So I gave that up and I do not think I will ever be able to beat this one bloody part, which should probably be very easy. That was most of my day, oh I also spent about 2 hours playing yahoo pool... how productive am I? Well somewhat since I did almost finish the novel I have to read for english.

I cannot believe my last post is a dancing piece of bacon.... hmmmmm what is wrong with me? Tonight was the coffee house... oh that was fun... I got to sell the coffee and the treats for two hours of the three that the show went on for. I did leave 15 minutes early on my last shift though because my back was bothering me... Well I'm in an interesting state...tired and yet not sleepy... It can be quite the weird combination....I'm really not sure where to begin.. since I have not updated in so long I'll just start updating more frequently I guess. Who knows? I'll try at least. Well the one thing that I find most interesting is my little musical exchange thing going on with my photography teacher.. It all started with Franz Ferdinand... I brought the CD to school and put it on during class, and he asked for a copy... so I did not mind and did so... and in return he introduced my to Lush... I quite like Lush.. Today I brought the Stranglers to school...and Monday I'm not sure what to select... some eighties classic? who knows... But at the moment I'm finding I have an obsession with British things.. not purposely, I've just noticed it because.. I love British punk/rock bands... I love the Beatles.. they are one of my fave bands.. and my love for Monty Pyhton is extreme.... Weird correlation indeed!

Updating finally. I thought I may mention my trek last tuesday to deathunfettered's cottage. We actually cycled from my house, to his cottage in Fenelon. It was very tiring indeed. We made a few stops along the way. One in cameron, because my usualy forgetfulness occured and it made me leave my medications at home. So we had to get those picked up. I have terrible allergies, and without my allergy medication I'm red nosed red eyed, weird sound making, sneeze machine. It is terribly true! I bought popsicles in camron for us, as well as a package of stale gum. I'm not joking at all this chewing gum was extremely stale. I looked at the package and it had expired last year. I was chewing on a year old piece of gum. It was probably even older than that! Well we did head on our way from there making two more stops for rest and being able to stand. I'm putting to much weight on my hands when I cycle, and so for about a week after we rode to his cottage I could not feel two of my fingers. Luckily they are finally back to normal! We were so tired when we arrived, and it did not help at all that my baggage I was carrying on my bicycle would fall off and rub against the whell, causing me to have to take some drastic bycycling actions to keep my bike under control! Otherwise everything went quite well. We had a blast at his cottage. I spent the night there which was cool too. We went swimming for as many hours as we could. We even went out in the boat, which we took and deathunfettered went swimming again! We had a really good time. I really enjoy diving off the stone thingies! I pretty sure they were old pillars at one time, or another! I was going to jump off of the bridge, but I was far too tired from the bike ride we did that day up to his cottage. I'm sure if I knew perfectly that I could swim my best, I would have jumped, but I had scratched and bashed my foot up a wee bit, and I really did not feel like taking any chances! When we woke up the next day, after the thunderstorm that night, we went swimming again. The river was our shower actually as we all shampooed our hair! It was a laugh. I thought snorkling was especially fun, because we found some funny things in the river, as well as we could watch the fish swim about! It was fun, just let me leave it at that.
Not much has happened to me that was as exciting, or as fun as that. I did go and set a firework off though with a friend of mine. We drove out and bought a firework and llet it go off. It was very fun. I must remember to get some more and light them off with a friend. I think it helps too that I quite like fire! Controlled fires that is!
Today I went to see the Bourne Supremecy. It was really good. The only bad part were the people in the theatre. There were so many tweens that were talking, you could hardly hear anything. When they finally closed their mouths it was better, because the movie was really good! There were the boys behind me though who were especially loud. If they came to the theatre to talk, that is sort of an oximoron I think. To talk in a place where you are not to talk.n Interesting! I saw tolarian as I left the theatre, she went to see the Bourne Supremacy with her family. I waved and smiled, but I have no idea if she saw me. tolarian if you read this I wave again! *waves*
After the movie which I saw with sweetinge, we all went to the Olympia, a local restaurant and had cake and coffee. It was a blast! I had an espresso. They are so good! I'm addicted to them. Yum! Anyway so far the night has been pretty good to me!

When the night feels my song- Bedouin Soundclash |

Well at this moment I do need to pee, but since I'm on my computer, I may as well update my journal.
This morning I woke up to a lovely phone call. At leats it was a call for a job. Which reminds me I should write it on my calendar before I forget.
I saw my family today. My aunt and uncle and my grandma were over ealier today. They all arrived while I was getting dressed this morning. I come downstairs and find half my family. They are an entertaining bunch, and my uncle said he will give me his old telescope, which I cannot wait to use. I'm planning to go out on an excursion to some field and gaze at the stars. We ended up going out for lunch today. We went to eat at East Side Mario's....It was pretty good.....
My boyfriend came over about an hour after we got home and we went to Peterborough and went to the Geek store. I love that store and hate it at the same time. I feel weird as I am often the only girl in the store, but they have the coolest stuff. My boyfriend had to get some modelling stuff, so I looked at all the games, action figures and the Magic Cards. I've really gotten my Magic the Gathering collection rolling....I really need something to store the cards in, but I'm not sure what to use. Right now they are in a bright blue candies box.....Very feminine for that game. I love the cards though! I'm obsessed, Oh! No!
We then headed to Walliemart and I bought myself a bathing suit. I hate the one I had befre, because every time I dived into the water, my top would fall down. It was so embarassing. But the new one I bought, is like the one I had before this cruddy one, so I'm sure it will be fine. I really like the A&W floats though...they have decent ice cream in them for a float.....It was very yummy.....It reminded my of the taste of the recipe I made for butterbeer, but colder... Very Yummy indeed!
I saw Farenheit 9/11. It was really good....I reccommend that everyone go see it..It is quite emotional, but the comic bits are so great.....and I was surprised by some of the stuff.....I quite enjoy Roger Moore documentaries!
That is all for tonight ciao!

Tiph has left the building. I will miss her so much, not only has she left the building, but she has left Canada all together. That girl was so much fun.
Saturday, I ran around like a crazed girl, trying to get everything organized for Tiph's going away party. I did have to get up at 5 am that morning. We had a yardsale. I cannot believe some of the stuff we sold. I will miss my little racing car, and my box kite. *sigh* We did sell mostly everything. I really have no idea why two of the neighbourghood boys came and looked at the things we had left. They had been out all morning then come to look at the stuff when we are cleaning up. We had a few things left. Last year one of the boys bought our old GT. He broke it this past winter. We've had them for probably over 10 years. We still have one though. After the yard sale my boyfriend came buy. He came with me and we went all over town picking up things for the party. We bought food, decorations and a really yummy ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. My boyfriend and I set everything up in the backyard and put up the streamers. Streamers are so much fun! It was so much fun when everyone came over. First one of my friends came by early. She is heading to University next year, so my boyfriend who is at the same university she is attending sat and discussed what courses she should take. It was a little boring for me so I ran inside and I prepared food and such. deathunfettered came by next. He is such a hoot, so I talked to him inside while my boyfriend still discussed University stuff. More people arrived, even some I did not know were coming by, but it was all good. We played the usual party game at my house, Balderdash. The best was the ice cream cake...
The Cake Dilemna!!!!!(echoing voice) We had a going away cake for Tiph. Well it was an icecream cake. First we bought an ice cream cake. On Saturday it was very, very hot! We had to get the cake and drive it quickly back to my house. It really did not help that Dairy Queen was on the other side of town. We got the cake to my house and shoved it in my downstairs freezer, which is very, very cold! The next thing was when we pulled it out to eat, I opened the box and the message was spelt somewhat wrong. There was a space missing in Aurevoir Tiph. It should be Au Revoir Tiph! Such a tradgedy. Then the best part is that we go to cut it and the cake was too frozen! We could not get it cut. We waited half an hour and it still would not cut. We even heated the knife. That really did not work, because as we cut it, it froze back together. I had to have my dad cut it. He got cake all over his hand, but served it out to everyone.
After the cake most people had to leave. The best part was we had another cake. A very yummy chocolate cake. We ate that once everyone left. First we made a Timmy's run though, then we ate the cake and drank coffee.
I did not have time to take the streamers down on Sunday, so I had to take them down Sunday. It rained Sunday, so I was outsidfe in my pyjamas in the rain pulling down soggy streamer. That was so funny. The streamer stuck to everything. It was a laugh. Tiph left on Sunday, so deathunfettered, my boyfriend and I went down to the house she was staying to say goodbye. I really do miss her. I eneded up hanging put with my boyfriend and we rented secret window later during the day.
Finally today has been okay. I finally got bras that fit!!!! Yeah.....Oh, they feel so much better...relief of the ones that were too small....I did by some shorts and a few shorts...but the bras were the main aim for shopping today!!!! Yeah....What a silly thing to get excited over. All is well otherwise...and I may go make some mini soldier men, or play mess around with some phtographs...Who knows....It is a little yucky though to go outside
